Bánh cam are the fried sesame balls you see in Vietnam. China has several variants here with various fillings.


The dough they use is made from glutinous rice flour. The filling is made from sweetened yellow mung beans.After rehydration, the mung beans are steamed or boiled. After this, they are crushed and sweetened with sugar. Before baking, the balls are rolled in white sesame seeds. After baking you have a delicious sweet fried snack, the outside of which is slightly crispy and has a nice golden colour.
